UNICEF Germany congratulates Orlando Bloom for "Bambi", the World Star ("Pirates of the Caribbean") on Thursday (11.11.) obtained in the Charity category for his commitment as an international ambassador for UNICEF.

"On behalf of the children we thank him most sincerely for his efforts. We are pleased that he will be awarded for this important volunteer work: Orlando Bloom has really deserved the prize. "
The British actor Orlando Bloom (33) has been working for UNICEF in 2007 and has since repeatedly made himself a picture of the effectiveness of UNICEF's work. In December 2007 he went to education and health projects in one of the poorest regions of Nepal. In the mountain village Pumdi Bhumdi he met with students about their school to spread important health-club rules.
